Don't feed your anger

Anger is a negative reaction and never helps anyone. It wastes your energy, and can hurt your health, spoil your relationships and cause you to miss opportunities.
If you are a negative thinker, do not worry, you can go from being a pessimist to becoming an optimist. What you should do is to erase those negative thoughts and replace them with positive.
Please, read this short and meaningful story I came across.

The Wolves Within

An old grandfather, whose grandson came to him full of anger at a schoolmate, who had done him an injustice, said, ''Let me tell you a story''.

I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow, for what they do. But hate wears you down and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking poison and wishing your enemy would disappered far far away. I have struggled with these feelings many times. It is as if there are two wolves inside me.

First wolf is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and does not take offense when no offense was intended. He will only fight when it is right to do so and in the right way. He is very calm and relaxed.
But ... the other wolf ... ahhh!
He is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannot think because his anger and hate are so big.

It is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit.
The boy looked intently into his grandfather's eye and asked, ''Which one wins, grandfather?''
The grandfather smiled and quietly said, ''The one I feed.''

~ A Native American tale told many times around the Sacred Fire~

The moral of this story is:
If you let go a little, you will have a peace. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace.

  1. Greetings Dusana,
Ah yes, I'm very familiar with that thought provoking tale. Indeed, life is about choices. We can be eaten up by negative resentment and destroyed by inner anger. Or we can turn a perceived negative into something positive. This is what I choose.
    In kindness, Gary

    1. Hi Gary,
Well said, always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.

      Dusana :-)

  2. Well said. I use a different vovabulary but try to express the same truth.
Negative emotions are like poison twhen we hold onto them in our hearts and spirits but when we forgive and allow them to flow out, the negative toxins become fertilizer in the hands of the Creator.

    1. Thank you, words are very powerful.
We have to control our emotion or it will control us.

      Dusana :-)
